Design
Big thinking design
The Galaxy Note7 was designed with purpose, both inside and out. From the dual-curved display and curved back to the revamped menu and expanded options for personalization. It’s a smartphone that changes the way you get things done—in a big way.
Curved symmetry
Galaxy Note7 is the first Note with a dual-curved screen that meets a curved back. Glass on the front and metal on the back bend in unison creating a seamless, flush surface all around. It’s the first Note to be perfectly symmetrical, top to bottom, side to side, and front to back.
Designed to curve
Because the back curves with precision, it feels just right whether you’re picking it up from a flat surface, or whether you have it in your palm while using the S Pen. On the front, the screen bends just at the last minute to offer maximum space for the S Pen, while delivering the full advantages of a functional edge screen.
Full of potential
With the Galaxy Note7 bezel pared down to the bare minimum, you get more out of the screen. It’s fully prepared to accommodate the way you work and play, be it an important document or a big movie.
Beauty in simplicity
Lock Screen Home Screen Quick Panel
Camera: Modes Camera: Rear Camera: Effects
The lock screen comes to life with a tilt of the phone. Icons and menus are simple and easy to find so you get to where you want in a few simple moves. Essential settings are managed with a swipe down of the Quick Panel. And the various modes on the camera are just easy swipes away.
Note the edge
With the edge screen on the Galaxy Note7, you have what you want at a flick of the finger. From your favorite apps to the updates you need, from more information shown at a glance to a wider selection on the Tasks edge. What you need is available in the way you want because it’s customizable as well.
Always On Display
The ability to get information at a glance without waking up your phone is significantly better on the Galaxy Note7. You can choose to get third-party app or calendar event notifications. You could set a custom signature or pin a Screen-off memo to the Always On Display. You’re also able to change the clock’s color and style to your liking.
S Pen
Why do you need the S Pen?
Because you need more ways to express yourself and a little help when you’re stuck. Because you’re always on the go and you never know where the next big idea will come from. You only have to take out the S Pen for Air Command: your quick menu to creating GIFs, to translating words in images just like that. You can jot down notes without unlocking the screen wherever, whenever because the S Pen’s now water and dust resistant. And with a simple press of the side button, it turns into an eraser. And they’re just some of the reasons why.
A finer tip
With a tip that’s so much thinner than before, the S Pen makes writing and drawing feel natural and effortless, so you’re able to focus on the task at hand.
Writes naturally
The Galaxy Note7 S Pen is engineered to be smooth and precise. It writes so well that note-taking sessions, detailed annotations and the most creative works of art come easy. It’s a pen that makes the switch between work and play as naturally as you do.
Notes in one place
Every note, memo, every image you selected and annotated with the S Pen are now saved into one place: the Samsung Notes app. It’s also where you’ll find your S Pen files transferred from your old phone via the Smart Switch app. And with access to more brushes and the ability to mix colors, you can use the S Pen to draw and paint and share them directly to PEN.UP.
Notes on the screen
No need to unlock your phone to jot down a note. Use the Screen-off Memo function to just take out the S Pen and start scribbling on the screen. If you need the note to be visible like a sticky note, pin it to your Always On Display screen and voila, there you have it.
Smart select GIFs
For those times when words aren’t enough, create your own GIF. Use the S Pen to select a section of a video and share them right away, either to just your friends or on social media. If it’s a specific part of an image, text or web page, you can draw around the area you want and hit the share button. Just tap Smart select from Air Command to begin.
*The attaching and viewing of GIFs may not be available on certain social media and messaging services. Even if attaching GIFs is possible, GIF size and length may be subject to change depending on the service.
Scroll and capture
Whether it’s an incredibly extensive article or a very long image, Scroll Capture lets you save the entire piece as one file and add annotations, making life easier for everyone involved. It’s as easy as pulling out the S Pen and selecting Scroll Capture from Screen Write in Air Command
S Pen in the air
Glance
Glance has minimized the steps you take when using two apps together. View the apps at the same time while you go back and forth just by hovering the S Pen over each app. This means you’re able to read restaurant reviews on one app as you check directions on a map app, making life that much easier.
Magnify
Whenever you need to take a closer look, hover the S Pen above the part you want to zoom in on and it will magnify just that part for you.
Translate
Get translations with just a hover of the S Pen. The ability to get instant translations of words, even in images, means you only need to take a photo of a menu to put the S Pen to work, and you’re able to order with confidence.
*Available languages may be limited. Availability of recognizing text within images may be limited and may not be available when screen capture is disabled.
Water resistant
Whether you’re on the go or at the pool. Whenever you need to make a note or provide feedback. Take out the S Pen and get to work. Because with the Galaxy Note7, even the S Pen is water and dust resistant.

Security
Tight security
Security is a primary concern because our phones are where we store some of our most important and personal information. But it shouldn’t be a hassle, and that’s why iris scanning is an essential solution to have on your phone. It’s one of the safest and most convenient ways to keep the Galaxy Note7 and its contents locked. And to keep all authentication methods secure and your privacy protected, we also rely on Knox, Samsung’s security solution.
Fingerprint Register your fingerprint
Pattern Use a pattern of your choice
Password Enter a combination of letters and numbers
PIN Enter a numeric sequence of 4 to 16 digits
WHY IRIS SCANNING? The patterns of our irises are incredibly complex and no two irises are the same—even on the same person. And because iris authentication leaves no physical mark on the Galaxy Note7 it’s impossible to replicate, making it one of the most secure ways to protect your data.
Iris (noun) The colored, ring-shaped part of your eye that surrounds and controls the size of the pupil.
Iris Scanner
To authenticate your iris, Galaxy Note7 relies on a highly advanced iris scanner that’s hidden within the phone’s slim body.
Separate and secure
Boundaries between work and life may be blurred, but files and apps can be kept strictly apart on Galaxy Note7 with the Secure Folder. Use it to store private information that can only be accessed by you; Samsung’s defense-grade Knox system will make sure it stays private. And since privacy is of utmost importance, you also have the option to make the Folder visible to only you.
Easy but effective
Documents, photos, videos and of course apps, whatever needs to be kept separate or from prying eyes can be dropped into the Secure Folder. Making it not only highly secure but also easy for you to use.
Strictly private
With Secure Folder, you’re essentially able to use two phones on one device. A separate, secure gallery can be created while the same apps can be managed with different login accounts. It’s simple to use and it works.
The key to mobile security
Unlock your phone with your iris, fingerprint or pattern. Go to an app directly from the Always On Display screen with a simple scan of your iris. Iris scanning also removes the hassle of passwords by letting you log in to websites on the Samsung Internet browser.
Security you can bank on
Online banking couldn’t be easier with iris scan. It’s the digital equivalent of bypassing the long line at the bank, but safer. Access your account with a simple scan of your eye, but no one else’s because it just wouldn’t work.
How iris scan works
Registration
Step 1 Select ‘Irises’ to begin registration
Step 2 Read message before proceeding
Step 3 Hold device up according to instructions
Step 4 Check successful scanning of irises
Step 5 Enable features to be accessed via iris scan
Verification
Step 1 Swipe lock screen to begin iris scan
Step 2 Position your eyes as shown
Step 3 And you’re in
Samsung Pay
It’s the simple and secure way to pay. And it works almost anywhere you can swipe or tap your card.
Find My Mobile
While your data stays safe on the Galaxy Note7, we’ve yet to find a way to never lose our phones. The next best thing is Find My Mobile. Set it up and have it locate your phone for you when it leaves your sight. And if necessary wipe all data from it.
Camera
Never miss a moment
The Galaxy Note7 camera is fast and capable, in any light. It gives you the power to capture the best moments in life, even the ones you didn’t plan. It’s a camera that won’t let you down.
Capture life
The Galaxy Note7 camera works like our own eyes focusing on objects in a similarly fast and accurate manner. Its 12MP Dual Pixel Sensor coordinates with a brighter F1.7 lens and larger 1.4µm pixels to take photos whenever and however your life happens, whether it’s day or night, fast or slow.
